Graduation

Mar. 10th, 2009 | 10:43 am
location: My Room
mood: nervous nervous
music: Jack & Diane

Wow I didn't realize I just left whoever checks this hanging. I succeeded. I had more than enough credits to graduate. I passed all my classes with flying colors (A's and B's) and now I am just waiting for my certificate. My brother-in-law got his in the mail last week sometime and me being near the end of the alphabet should be getting mine in a week or so. Yay! How cool to say I am a graduate student now! I have a BA in Geology and a minor in Geotechnology. If any of you know a job working with GIS work I would be more than happy to apply. it is hard to find a job with the way the economy is sitting. I applied in Florida, Colorado, Kansas, Idaho, and Washington. We will see where I go.

::crosses fingers for Boise::

I have some family there so I was hoping to get the job. I won't know for another couple weeks.

I am not doing anything in my life right now. Just sitting at home looking for a job. Luckily my parents are letting me stay here rent free.

Anyway, that about sums up my life. I will post again when I have a job.

Summer

music: "We're all in this together" (stupid parade float)

I said I would post more and I lied. I guess life just isnt intersting enough to post all the time. Eh. Next week I have the pleasure of visiting with the graduation department to discuss my graduation this fall. I am nervous to go in, afraid they will tell me I don't have enough credits or the classes I took don't work out or that I have too many credits and they are going to boot me out. I'm sure things will go well. I just hope I have the money I need to pay to graduate (crazy isn't it? you have to pay to get in and pay to leave).
The pioneer day celebration was fun. I went to the fairgrounds and walked around with my sister and her family. Didn't really buy anything (besides the worlds best hamburger for lunch). we did the petting zoo thing, it was funny to watch my niece freak out over the goats, she is terrified of them. She wanted to pet them but when they got close enough to pet she would cling to my legs. So cute.

Hey

mood: amused amused
music: Points Of Authority

Sorry I really don't post as often as I would like. I started the Lost series a couple weeks ago. My goal was to get caught up with the series before their show the season finale Thursday, so after busting butt (literally, they are hour long shows O.o) I did it. And I am more confused now than I was when I started. I really hope that isn't how their lives go in the future. Everyone has a horrible life. Except Kate and Aaron. Anyway, I will be with the millions tuning in Thursday to watch the 2 hour season finale and wondering if there will be a season 5.
I have written a loads of stories, but I don't know if I should post them. You guys really wont understand what is happening ... cause they feature original characters.
Anyway, I should post more often. I am on the computer everyday at work, and half the time I really don't do my work. I have started reading a Meg Cabot book Size 12 Isn't Fat, part of the Heather Well's Mysteries. It isn't bad so far, but i am only 35 pages into it. I will tell you guys what I think of that when I get further into it.

Jumper

Feb. 25th, 2008 | 12:59 pm
location: My Room
mood: groggy groggy
music: Couldn't hear it if I wanted to ::stuffy ears::

A while back when I saw a trailer for Jumper and kinda wanted to see it. So, because I am impatient when it comes to things, I searched to see if it was a book first. And it was. So I read the book.
It is a 16+ book (imo) and was very good as far as the storyline. You really feel bad for Davy. And then I read Jumper: Griffin's story, since I saw Griffin in the trailer, to see what they could include about him. And that was a really good book. Maybe 14+.
Today I watched the movie ... and am disappointed. They were such great books I am highly disappointed with the movie. The only things they kept the same were their names and the fact Davy jumped to the library when he didn't think before jumping.
He didn't grow up with Millie ... she was 3 years older then him and didn't want to date him because of it. They met in New York when she was on holiday.
So if you want to enjoy the movie as a movie watch it and avoid the books, but if you want a better storyline read the books. They are certainly entertaining.

Ugh ...

Feb. 23rd, 2008 | 08:07 pm

mood: sick sick
music: Miss Congeniality on the TV

I am so sick right now. My skin hurts, it hurts to cough deep in my chest, it hurts to breathe sometimes, I am only sitting here writing this because my body is tired of laying down. But all I want to do is sleep. I can only lay on my side if I want to breath, and even though my electric blanket is on I still feel horribly cold.
And to top it off I just bought a $22 4gb thumb drive yesterday, put all my personal information on it, and lost is last night. I tried calling all the places I went to last night but they haven't seen it ... ugh. My sister checked her whole house, I wish I could check it since I know exactly where I was but I am sick and don't want her kids to get sick.

This sucks.

Presentation and Stuff

Nov. 15th, 2007 | 12:14 am
location: My Room
mood: chipper chipper
music: Tatsh - Xepher from DDR Supernova!

So I kicked trash on my presentation Tuesday. I talked for about 8 minutes and used the rest of the time to answer questions. People were talking about it even after I sat down.
Yay I PAWNED YOU JEREMY! (he read the same book as me but didn't do as well) HA.
I went to GIS day today and worked at the front table for a bit. I got a free shirt and a pencil out of the deal. Oh and getting out of class ... I liked that part. I went to work today since tomorrow i will be getting my hair cut! I am excited it will be short enough to spike again. If I remember how to do that.
Because I managed to talk my professor out of making my paper due Friday I really have nothing due this week. I can be a bum and read again. Yay!
Ok I am off. I have to run to work tomorrow before class to get payroll done.
Chow!

Blah

Nov. 12th, 2007 | 10:54 pm
location: My Room
mood: pensive pensive
music: Blue October - Calling You

I think professors are out to get you ... seriously. I talked to one of them on Thursday about the work load they are requiring us to turn in before Thanksgiving break and he told me they really don't get together and talk about it. They  planned three tests on the same day. I think they need to get together and talk about their plans for the week and not just sit and eat pizza. I have walked by their meetings ... they really don't do professional stuff there.
Anyway, I have a paper due (2 pages ... it is harder then it sounds really I am having a hard time cutting from 3 pages to 2 without sounding like I am skimming the subject - a book titled Extinction: Bad Genes or Bad Luck), a 10 minute presentation, a 5 page paper on the Green River Formation in Wyoming, question sets for my night class (I think I am going to ignore these till the break, I can turn them in when i get back), and a GIS project coming up I haven't even started on.
I want to rip my hair out this semester.
On that note ::dances:: I GOT INTO REMOTE SENSING!! Yay. There are only 5 seats and I am seat 4/5 in there. You have to have permission to get into this class because there are only 5 seats. I am going to get my GIS minor and make the buko bucks. If only I can endure this semester.
Ok so for my bowling class I got free passes to the bowling alley there. I took my parents as a thanks tonight and was going to show off my wicked awesome skills and completely flopped. I didn't get points till the third frame, second bowl. I scored a 53 on the first game and a 79 on the second game. I don't know what happened. Thursday in class I got a 134. O.o stage fright? I think I am going to blame it on the lane we were using. Although come tomorrow we are starting tournaments. I hope I can bowl. I have taken up a bad habit of bowling with my left hand for fun so when I tried my right tonight i flopped for the most part. I think my right hand is mad at me T_T.
I wish I had a more interesting life I could post the stuff here. I want to use this place more. I check it everyday, I just don't post. Maybe tomorrow I will tell all of you about my presentation and how things went. I am sure you really don't care, but I will tell you anyway.
Anyway, I am off to sleep now. I have to be up early tomorrow and looking my best so I can stand in front of the class and tear down an old man's book.

Night!

x_x <-- Brain

mood: busy busy
music: Sora from Escaflowne

My brain hurts. I am so ready for another vacation ... but we don't have one for another 61 days >_<.
I have to read Angle of Repose by Wallace Stegner, Extinction, Bad Genes or Bad Luck? by David M. Raup, Rocks, Rails, and Trails by my professor Paul Link all in a week. I am going to die. Angle of Repose is 531pages of meaningless text. I don't want to subject myself to reading it.

UGH.

Besides school that has been my life. I am going to go now. But for reading my rant I will give you something to look at. My gaian character is so cool right now so I feel like showing her off. ^_^

Ok, so I have a new obsession ... and surprisingly it isn't manga or anime. Have you ever read the book Twilight by Stephanie Meyer? OH MY GOODNESS to die for! No pun intended :p. It was such a good book I read the whole series in a week. I read New Moon in a little over 24 hours. Come one peoples! That was a 600 page book!

I can't wait till she comes out with the next installment next year.

Ok so your job now is to go out and rent/buy the book so you can obsess over it like me.

Stephanie Meyer: Twilight - New Moon - and Eclipse.
